Hannover-Kolleg and Erasmus+
From January 2026 to June 2027, we are authorized to participate in Erasmus+ short mobilities.
We are excited to partner with like-minded schools for adult learners in Europe (for student mobilities and / or job-shadowing). We would like to expand European exchanges and foster a stronger European identity.
The main languages of our students are German, English and French.
Where we are
Hannover, the capital of Lower Saxony, is a vibrant, well-connected city in Northern Germany with around 500,000 residents. Known for its universities and trade fairs, it offers green spaces like the Eilenriede – the largest urban forest in Europe – along with many leisure activities and the European Information Centre. Berlin, Bremen and Hamburg are just a train ride away. You can even reach the Northern or the Baltic Sea within three hours.
About us
Hannover-Kolleg is a school for adult learners aged 19 and above. Students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds engage in an intensive and supportive learning environment to achieve a higher education certificate within three to five years. Currently, approximately 230 students are enrolled at Hannover-Kolleg. They are learning English (for advanced learners) and French (for beginners). A lot of pupils have other native languages such as Turkish, Arabic, Kurdish, Ukrainian, Russian … .
Our Erasmus+ Mobilities Key themes
We are interested in short mobilities with project-based teamwork strengthening European identity and job shadowing activities. Our main aims are:
- Democracy, tolerance and Human Rights
We would like experiencing EU values through projects and exchanges. As we are a multicultural school where pupils have different cultural origins, we especially want to support learners from non-democratic systems and make all pupils aware of the importance of democratic values and engagement.
What we do already: With our history classes we have visited the Gedenkstätte Moritzplatz in Magdeburg, a former prison of State Security of the former German Democratic Republic (GDR). In Political Studies classes, pupils assist to discussions in the Parliament of Lower Saxony, the Landtag, and visit debates of our national parliament, the Bundestag, in Berlin. They also talk to local members of the Parliament. - Artificial Intelligence
We seek international collaborations on practical and reflective use of AI in the classroom. This is concerning Media literacy, fake news and lesson or exam preparation with AI.
What we do already: Teachers have got the possibility to take part in different courses informing about AI and its impact on educational systems and learning process.
We organize an annual workshop with a journalist to inform about media, the work of journalists and the methods and aims of fake news. We have started a pupils’ study group “news” in 2026. - Cultural Diversity and Inclusion
Cultural Diversity and awareness shall support our students to gain self-efficacy and resilience.
What we do already: A group of students organizes different projects about tolerance at school. They want to make aware of and discuss exclusion, discrimination or racism in the daily life of pupils. They also engage to include topics of LGBTQ at our school.
